Before being one of the most chic hotels on the Islands of Guadeloupe, La Toubana Hotel & Spa was built gradually under the impetus of a family of enthusiasts. For more than thirty years, from father to son and from parent to child, the clan has worked to satisfy customers with sincerity, taste and refinement. A fifth star will make this magical place the first accommodation provider in this range of destinations.
History:
In the 1950s, Robert Vial Collet, originally from Savoy, arrived in Guadeloupe by boat. There he meets a beautiful Guadeloupian, Michèle, who will become his wife and the mother of his three children. In the 70s, this visionary man bought the land where La Toubana was built. At the time, his father-in-law explained to him that he was making a serious mistake because he had to buy land from” cannes ” or to” bananas ”, but certainly not a rocky cliff! In 1984, the hotel finally opened its doors with 18” small boxes ” 2 stars. In 2005, the family won a third star, then a fourth in 2012. It is then operated by his son Patrick and his wife Corinne, who themselves pass the torch to Chloé and Aston, their children, who are now in charge of the place.
A chic, charming hotel:
In La Toubana, each bungalow is nestled in its small cocoon surrounded by vegetation. All have a beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea. Inside, the blinds let in light while creating a peaceful and all-encompassing atmosphere. The common areas remain in the same state of mind, cozy, chic while maintaining the Creole spirit. The restaurant and bar are located at the level of the infinity pool. From up there, the view of Marie-Galante and Caravelle Beach is breathtaking.
Two restaurants, two atmospheres. One by the sea, next to the beach, the other perched on the pool side. Each year, whether for one or the other, the menus are revised but the iconic dishes, such as grilled lobster, remain! Each dish is imagined and concocted according to seasonal products that are chosen from small producers. Local, fresh, typical!
3 villas are added to the hotel complex:
In 2014, villas were built and added to the hotel complex. Totally independent of the bungalow section, there are 3 luxurious villas and 12 suites, 2 of which have swimming pools. By calling on the architect Guy Benoist and the decorator Muriel Chabernaud, the soul of the place and its typical character have been preserved, without going too modern in style. The layout of the rooms allows total independence. Everyone moves easily in this airy and bright space. In the early morning, the sea show and the singing of the birds promise a very pleasant day. While maintaining exterior light, blinds provide a pleasant and tranquilizing feeling.
Far from the outside world and the hustle and bustle, the body relaxes under the jets of the Italian-style showers. A real cocoon of happiness to share with several people.
On-site activities:
Completely renovated, the new reception... and the radiant smile of the staff... make you want to stay there. And who better than seasoned locals to understand the island and refine your stay? On the beauty side, the spa has been equipped with a reception, a rest room, new cabins and brand new changing rooms. At the beach level, the dike has become a beach in itself. Pareos, small tunics, clutches, a practical shop has also been opened.
Feedback from a loyal customer:
“When you rent a villa in La Toubana, you also have access to the entire hotel, to daily cleaning, to the chef en villa if you wish, to the spa, to the pool, to the beach services. The team always makes every effort to make your wishes come true, within reason. You want a butler, a yoga class, a chef, a massage, a swimming class... anything is possible,” explains Chloé.
When dreams come true...
